Do I need uninsured motorist coverage on my old 2006 Dodge Ram?

I have good health insurance and my truck is old. Adding the coverage isn't expensive, but I don't want to waste money if I don't need it.

“If you have the ability to adduninsured motorist coverageand can afford to do so, you should add it to your policy.

Regardless of how good your health insurance is, medical bills can add up. If you are in a serious accident with an uninsured driver, you may max out your health insurance benefits.

Should that happen, and if you don’t have uninsured motorist coverage, you’d be required to pay for everything out of pocket. With uninsured motorist coverage, you would have additional coverage for medical bills, loss of work, or pain and suffering.

It may seem easy to write off extra coverage based on a vehicle’s age, but uninsured motorist coverage has more to do with your health. If you can afford to give yourself extra protection, you should.”
